weekly happenings

last weekend ian and i caught up with some of the world's bestest friends joel and annie! we attempted to eat at a new restaurant in the N. Lib but a half hour wait steered us towards Eggys. After a few 1/2 price margs and a ridiculously long food wait we headed back to their place. we ended up spending majority of the night playing catch phrase - such a crowd pleaser. "what goes with celery" was the best clue of the night. oh and i cannot forget to mention that ann was asked to join our crazy wedding party as a second personal attendant! sooo pumped!  the next day we caught up with a few other friends to watch the superbowl. jade & becca hosted and shared that they are expecting a little GIRL in june!! i am BEYOND excited for them. during these fesitivities i took no pictures. o well. i'm not too great at this blogging thing sometimes. 

monday i finally caught up with one of my very best friends nicki - who has been living overseas for what feels like forever but is really only about a year. it was fabulous. we ate at la cantina in downtown cedar rapids & watched hours of say yes to the dress in our frigid basement. she got to see our little house in person & watch our wedding video. it was a great start to the week. 

on tuesday i found out that i passed boards. best day ever!! seriously i had completely convinced myself that i had failed and was preparing for the worst. i was in utter disbelief that i actually managed to pass. sometimes i think i can be a little hard on myself but it is also important to be realistic. ian and i ate lunch at the ID - his favorite little place to eat that also happens to be right across from his job. afterward my mom joined me for a bit and surprised me with some wino and a few pieces of our "wedding" cake. perfecto! when ian got home we got "dolled" up and went out to eat at zins. amazeballs!!! seriously the best restaurant hands down. and ian looked so handsome in his new Calvin Klein suit he got for christmas.

it was a day i will always remember in our marriage. and the perfect way to celebrate. we came home changed into comfies and snuggled up for a few episodes of breaking bad. lets just say mr. flynn is a little bit addicted right now.

wednesday i began to tackle the task of DEEP CLEANING our house! it was so gross. i am almost embarrassed by how much we let it go. the dust bunnies in the corners were so yucky! i did the entire upper level. which included doing a few switcheroos by re-arranging our bedroom furniture. and i got a special delivery from my sister. beautiful yellow roses. she is the best. 

today i SLEPT in [after taking ian to work of course]. it was glorious. i also ran some errands which included getting a few wedding pictures printed to put up in the living room and family guest room. i'm loving it! i also finally got our canvas print for above the fireplace ordered today. now i just have to wait to get it. i went with easycanvasprints.com. i will let you know how it turns out. i am hoping i love it because the pricing was fabuloso. now i'm just waiting for ms. kate to get her booty up here to catch up. i feel like in my crazy study schedule i neglected my friends and family. i cannot wait to catch up with her finally. 

tomorrow we are planning on spending time with flynns.

saturday will be a wilmot family get together day & hopefully celebrating with friends in the evening. 

i cannot wait to get our weekend started!! and then come monday i will be starting orientation for my first day at work! crazy how fast time flies by!!
