serious bargain shopping for the pup.

in a rush of excitement we decided to go look for a toy to get the little gal last night. not only did we find the perfect toy. we also found some other "necessities."

first off.... our GRAND total was under $11.00
ya. word.
the harness we got alone was originally $9.99 - marked down to $2

we also snagged up some clearance hair bows. for a whopping $1.20. i predict these will be worn for about 30 seconds or less. so i didn't want to invest much. anticipate seeing our baby with a bow prior to this time next week.

we spotted this cutie and instantly thought she would like it. so we got it. although it was the most expensive thing we purchased. totally worth every penny!

we also snagged a pink pig just next to the cash register. it was more difficult to get a toy than one would think. she only weighs 26 ounces right now. so automatically that rules out about 99% of toys. we hope she will like it and us. even though we already anticipate she will think we are kidnapping her. for sure.

steph let us borrow her book "chihuahuas: a complete pet owner's manual" book. we are so excited and ready to go pick her up. now it's just a waiting game!!! ahhhh.

also i have to recap a pretty hilarious conversation that went down last night as we were laying in bed trying to fall asleep.

ian: "i can't believe we are getting a dog."
me: "i know!!"
..... pause for a break of silence as we both let that sink in
me: "ya. we really need to find out when her real birthday is. because we need to make sure we celebrate it on the right day."
ian: "seriously. that is what you are thinking about. i'm much more concerned about how we are going to tackle potty training. not when we celebrate our dog's birthday for her."

it made us both laugh. i guess that is one difference between boys and girls. and know that our puppy will have a pretty rocking birthday celebration. we take birthday's seriously around here.

ps. tonight we purchased a potential collar. we found it from the cat section at target - much cuter. but sadly it may be too big. we will have to see. we also purchased some treats, puppy shampoo, and carpet cleaning spray. we also checked out pet beds - and found some we love. we aren't going to get her one until she is trained a bit better though.
